The past few months we couldn’t run our activities at Saphan Siri slum as usual because of the corona virus restrictions. But still we visited the slum community several times to distribute masks, sanitiser and food. Even though the community doesn’t pay much attention to what happened to the country and the world, it affected many of them. Many of them lost their job and regular income. In these circumstances we want to show our love and concern to the people and their families as much as we can.

One ton of rice in one day

Last Saturday we distributed 1000kg rice to 200 families. Members of two churches in Bangkok joined in to hand out rice and prayers. The families had to come to a certain spot with their coupon to get the rice bag. There we had the opportunity to share the gospel and invited them to receive prayer. Many came to sit down for a short talk and received prayer. It was so encouraging to see their openness and how trust was growing over months and years.

A move of God

Most of them know us because we have been going in and out of their community. Two people invited Jesus into their lives, a few people received healing and deliverance from pain and many testified they were encouraged after receiving prayer. Surprisingly, just by the way people shared about healings they received months ago but never shared it with us. This is what the presence of the holy spirit can do….and much more of course. Our vision is to see the community changed through the love of God. We are thankful for growing trust, favor and influence in this community. We have more vision to reach out to the teenagers and adults as well and bring more of God’s kingdom values into this community and their families.

By now the circumstances are getting better slowly and we started to have the kids activities at “House of Moses” again. The kids love to spend time there and get a lot of love and attention.
