When Jesus called people out of their individual life's situation to follow him (see Matth. 4:19), he did not require them to be educated or mature believers. He was not expecting them to know it all. He did not call them to join a church program. While following him and living IN RELATIONSHIP TO HIM, disciples get healed and equipped! But it takes courage and obedience to leave everything behind and to act upon his word.

Arden's testimony

Arden is 24 years of age. He was a former drug addict and is one of the students of the present REVIVAL SCHOOL Philippines. He shares this:
»I grew up in Payatas, a garbage dump in a really poor family. We had nothing, I even didn't have any birth certificate. Because I used drugs with my friends, I was not capable to graduate from school. In order to earn some money, I worked as a jumper boy or a garbage collector and thought that I would live like this until the end of my life.«

Folge mir nach 03

»BUT God had amazing plans for my life: Missionaries (staff from HELP International CMC and former drug addicts) came to the slum where I lived and shared the Good News and the love of God. Even though I was always high on drugs when they came, I felt the love of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit and was crying.«

Everything is possible with God

Due to these experiences, I wanted to change my life. I went to the Set Free Center (rehab of HELP International CMC) and found that I am valuable and my joy to worship God with all my life. I finished the rehab, caught up with my studies, finished high school, got a birth certificate and even a driver's license … and then I became staff at the Father's House. Now I am holding a brandnew passport, for God called me to the REVIVAL SCHOOL on the Move and to go to other nations! I am thankful that God has changed my live. I am getting equipped, I am growing in my relationship to the Holy Spirit, and step into the vision that God gave me ...« EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH GOD!

How about you?

In Februar 2018, we started the new term of the REVIVAL SCHOOL 2018 with five students coming from the Philippines and Mongolia. We are amazed at how they want to follow Jesus and discover their destiny and God's possibilities.

Join us and love Jesus like the first disciples did. Live together with us, get equipped and changed by the Holy Spirit's power. Become a witness and take the Good News to the streets and to the lost. Follow his call even to the ends of the earth.

Pray with us for workers in the harvest and partner with us in sending out missionaries from the Philippines to all nations. »I see people rising up from the Philippines, boasting, proudly rejoicing in JESUS CHRIST alone and bringing his live-changing power to the nations! For God chose what in the world is foolish, weak, lowborn, insignificant, contempt and branded to put the wise and strong to shame, that He might dispose and bring to nothing the things that are, so that no mortal man can boast in the presence of God.« (Bibel quote from 1 Corinthians)

A grateful heart is a great encouragement. Here in the Set Free Center, many drug addicts and alcoholics seek help and are set free. Many lives have been changed! One thing that encourages us is when we know that our former guests are living the new life they have found with Jesus. But it's even sweeter when they come and visit the place which they call »home«. This is then the homecoming of a brother, not as a prodigal but as a radical! A radical person who made a decision to let go of their old self and to embrace the new life. During last Christmas’ season, a handful of former guests came to visit and even brought gifts and treats for everyone in the house. They are so grateful for what Jesus has done in their lives. And because of that, as a thanksgiving, they come and say »thank you«.

Ein dankbares Herz 07

Thank you!

In line with this, we also want to say »thank you« for your love and all support in helping us to run this ministry of reconciling God's children back to the Father. We appreciate you very much!

Men of Revival

In November 2017, we started to gather former guests of the Set Free Center for fellowship and worship. There was a great response and we saw the hunger in these brothers, so we decided to meet once a month. Many got encouraged and while we worshipped, prayed and fellowshipped over a meal, a fire started to burn in their hearts. We call this group MORe (Men of Revival) and the gatherings MORe Sessions. We believe that revival will break out among drug addicts and we believe that God is raising real men who worship Him in the Spirit and in truth.

I won't forget

»Even though I moved on to live my own life outside of the community, I did not forget where I came from, the people that introduced Jesus to me. This is where I found Jesus. I won’t forget this place!« (Percy)
All of us long for family, for protection and feeling secure. Those who have it, are mostly not aware of how fortunate they are. However, when you lack it you tend to develop envy, bitterness, even hatred with all its side effects ...

The lack

Timothy, 22 years old, grew up without father. Earlier in his childhood his parents got separated because his dad was into drugs. His mother was left alone to raise him and his brother. He never experienced the guidance, impact and protection of a father. He never even experienced his dad spending a night with them. Timothy developed anger, hatred and bitterness towards his dad because he did not take his responsibility as a father nor as a husband to his mom. All of this led Timothy to drug addiction and later on, he was caught by the police for drug possession ...

Reconciled 03

Abba, Father!

He was imprisoned but was bailed out and decided to come to Set Free Center. Timothy found rest, hope and love in Jesus. He encountered Abba Father ... Then one Sunday, his dad surprisingly came to visit him. Timothy was so amazed to realize that all the anger and bitterness were gone. It was replaced by excitement! »When I saw my dad and talked to him, it was really amazing to discover for myself that the love of God taught me to love my dad, even though he abandoned us.«

Reconciled 05

Timothy is soon finishing the one-year rehab program at the Set Free Center. He has grown to trust God and that Abba Father is his identity. We can see a greater boldness in him to share and face people.

Need help?

We have vacant space at the Set Free Center and if you are struggling with any kind of addiction, don't hesitate to call and inquire at +63 2 6584895 or check out Set Free Center's website.
We didn't really know who our visitor would actually be and thought we just call her »Ate« (sister) Cynthia. That's what we usually do when women come to visit with us. However, when we encountered Cynthia we all just wanted to call her »Lola« (grandma) right from the start.

Divine appointment

God sent her to at the right right! She has been waiting and praying for over 20 years to come to the Philippines. God's ways are amazing and unique. We all were in awe at how he connected us and sent her our way. We spent lots of time in worship together, for Lola Cynthia popped right into our fasting and prayer week. Thus we couldn't even invite her to a nice meal ... as all of us were on a fast. Instead, we all were strengthened by God through Lola Cynthia, which was so good and needed!

Lola 10

Lola Cynthia

One of the most precious moments of her visit was, when Cynthia prophecied over our children and youth. It was very impacting for us as staff to actually discover what God sees in our children. He is so in love with everyone, he has so much passion for each ... so powerful!

Thank you so much, Lola Cynthia for visiting with us. Thank you for every hug and for lavishly pouring your love into us. Because of you some of us have fallen in love with Jesus again! Yes, you are awesome, sweet and a loving Lola to all of us. We are very much looking forward to seeing you again ... when you come back with »Lolo« (grandpa).

... and this is only the beginning ... »Yes, I know that God has called me, but I do not know how to pay the tuition of 200 EUR per month – it’s just too big.« This was a statement from a Filipino right before the start of the REVIVAL SCHOOL. He was battling with doubts when he heard how much tuition is going to be and was discouraged. But God proved to him that he is far better than anything he ever thought! With a big smile on his face he handed me an envelope before the school started - FIRST MONTH FULLY PAID!
Another student thought I was kidding him when I said that someone had paid for him for the whole month.

Wunder 06

Opening a new chapter

We are opening a new chapter! REVIVAL SCHOOL means: God awakens faith within us and calls us into a new dimensions and a new freedom. Yes, it is possible to live 100% by faith seeing God providing for us – regardless any social or cultural background or nationality!
Personally, I moved into the school building with nothing but one spoon as a kitchen content, and found that without a knife or peeler carrots are difficult to eat. Before we started school, we only had few simple furniture, an almost empty kitchen - BUT EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH GOD!

Wunder 04

Supernatural provision began to flow ...

... Cutlery, kitchen items and containers were brought in from the extended community. Money for cups and bedsheets came together, willing hands helping to clean the house. Suddenly a student had the double school fee and he told how God told him, »I bless you and you shall be a blessing – so be a blessing.« We are seeing a new identity growing and developing in the Filipinos, and to us it’s one of the greatest miracles to hear a Filipino say: »Yes, I have something to give!«

Wunder 05

We believe in miracles

It was a miracle of how we started the school with five students in the beginning of August ... and we continue to depend on miracles. It is for all of us an adventure to walk in the new things of God, to depend only on God, to trust him and to see how the humanly unthinkable becomes possible with God.

Wunder 03

This is only the beginning of God's confirmation and provision. In the next few weeks, we will do outreaches and spread his blessings in the streets of the Philippines. Tondo (a huge garbage dump in Manila) and its people shall experience the riches of God. We will be his love messengers, because we were blessed to be a blessing. We will fly to the embattled island of Mindanao and join UPRISING, a prayer and fasting gathering, and we will rise up for this nation. No revolution – but REVIVAL!
Day 3 of our Tondo outreach. Every week we go to this slum area and do outreaches. We have rented a small apartment to be able to stay for a couple of days - very close to the scene and to the people. We stay for three to five days for these »special outreaches«. It's quite a challenge to live in such an environment, to breath in that place ... but on the other hand it's such a privilege to be able to go and do what we are doing.

Day 3

Well, back to day 3 ... After we worshiped on the garbage dump, we were on our way back to the apartment, when suddenly we saw this man. He was all alone, left by family and relatives. All he owned was a hamock that was hanging between some trees in the back of some dirty yard. When we spotted this man, God spoke to us to go to him and share the Gospel with him. We love to do what God says!

For the one 03

We give what we have

What a precious experience to watch this man opening his heart for the Gospel message. We asked if he wanted to give his life to Jesus, and he wholeheartedly answered »Yes!«. Together we asked Jesus to come into his life and continued to pray for healing for his many wounds all over his body, in his soul and spirit. We noticed that this man literally didn't have anything - no food and no money to buy any. We gave him what we had on us.

For the one 05

The Gospel must be preached

Before leaving the place, we asked hm whether anyone else ever shared the Gospel with ihm - »No« no one ever did. No wonder God sent us to this man. Jesus left the 99 sheep to look for the one that had gone lost. It's devastating for us to loose something that's precious to us. How devasted must God be about a person being lost when he loved us so much that he even gave his only Son to die for us. We are so grateful that God has found us and that he uses us to find the lost in order to share the Gospel with them.
For the past two years I have been infected with Amoeba (a parasite causing diarrhea, stomach ache and vomiting). Wherever I went, I was seen carrying my own bottle full of water which I specially had to buy. I wanted to make sure I wouldn't get infected again through unclean water.

The battle of the mind

I was healed from this disease four years ago and was very thankful though I still worried and thought about it every day. I tried my best not to catch it again.
In the end of April, I was at a beach retreat of our community to which I forgot to bring my own water. »What now?«, I asked myself. The weather was very hot and we all needed to drink a lot. I somehow felt, »Try it out. Don't be afraid, drink this ordinary drinking water.« So I did ...

Endlich frei 03

Free from fear

The next morning we talked about »healing«. I knew, I wanted to receive it. Not because I was sick, but because of all the worrying to catch Amoeba that constantly filled my mind. So I opened my heart wide for healing. I instantly felt that I didn't have to worry any longer. I was healed – completely healed!
Since then, I am free to drink ordinary drinking water. My fears are gone and I can move about wherever I go without my own water bottle. Thank you, Jesus!

Recently we flew to the south of the Philippines to the city of Davao with 30 young people from our community to attend the UPRISING Prayer Confernce (United Prayer Rising). For our teenagers and some of our staff it was the first flight ever. The conference was organized by many different churches together and we as HELP Philipppines were also part of this team. Little did we know that war was coming while we were preparing for the conference in January ...

Davao 03

Liberation of a city

It was a miracle that we were able travel to Davao with so many of our young people, considering that all participants had to pray and believe for their own expenses (tickets and accommodation). There was joy and jubilation as we saw all 30 of us receiving the money we needed. Miracle after miracle happened and in the end were were able to cover all expenses thus making it possible for all of us to attend this important event. The four days in Davao were filled with many good inputs on PRAYER and UNITY. The vision of this conference was that as a nation and the body of Christ we should stand in unity and move forward together as YOUNG AND OLD. However, the highlight was when on the fourth day, together with 1,500 people from all of the provinces of the Philippines, we fasted for 10 hours, prayed and repented for our nation. Despite prevailing martial law in Davao, everything was quite peaceful. Many soldiers, firefighters and paramedics were on the square to guard the event, and many of them were touched by God's presence and we could pray for them. Only one month after the conference, the President Duterte was able to announce liberation of the city of Marawi. Thank you, Jesus!

Davao 04

Arise!

This conference was this year's highlight for many of our young people. All of us returned to Manila encouraged, exhorted, strengthened and full of vision. UPRISING was not just a conference, it was also the start of an »uprising« in the spiritual realm.

One of our young Filipino staff came back from a trip to Germany realizing, »Europe needs missionaries!« Before, he always thought that only the Philippines were a country in need of missionaries- but now he felt God’s heartbeat for the nations and for the broken people beyond the borders of the Philippines. He continued, »Actually, we as Filipinos have so much to give!«

Sprungbrett 08

REVIVAL SCHOOL Philippines

This is totally contrary to the perspective of most Filipinos, who are held in inferiority, family bondages, drugs or poverty. This young man did not only make it to escape this vicious circle by the power of Jesus, however, he is serving his nation and wants to be equipped in order to go to the nations. God wants to equip and send people from the Philippines. For this reason, we are setting up a school building and start the REVIVAL SCHOOL (one the Move) on August 1, 2017 – a very practical DTS, made for hungry followers of Jesus, who want to follow his call: »Go into all the earth, make disciples of all people and teach them to obey all that I’ve told you!« (Matth. 28:19)

Learning by doing

We are living together and share our lives, just as Jesus did with his disciples. Jesus took them wherever he went and they learned most of the things while they were on the move - learning by doing.
Thus, we are having corporate teaching sessions, times of impartation and equipping, prayer and worship in our school as much as on the garbage dumps and in the squatter areas (slums). The students are learning to serve a louse-ridden orphan and a drug addict in the same way as they serve their roommates, by walking in the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s not about methods, structures or dry theory but it is all about a live lead by the Holy Spirit. We will do what we see the Father do, just like Jesus did - no matter the cost and we are going wherever he leads us. This was the way the disciples learned as well; the way they grew strong in the power of the Holy Spirit and the way people got saved, redeemed, healed, equipped and were sent.

In August 2017 we start a three-month-training block with students from the Philippines and from. In 2018, we will offer a full year international and national training program. If you are interested to join us, get in touch with us by eMail and apply!
In addition, our base in Lüdenscheid is hosting the REVIVAL SCHOOL on the Move with which you can do nation-hopping - to Thailand, to Texas, to Mongolia and also to the Philippines.

Support

Our goal for the school is to be financially independent by 2020. However, while still pioneering it, we do need partners wo stand with us. We are specifically looking for prayer partners and sponsors. For example, we are still in need of a washing machine, a printer, an edge trimmer, a microwave, a rice cooker as well as additional furniture. In addition there is our monthly rent and additional expenses.

The Philippines – a sending nation!

You want to be a part of it? Write us an eMail, if you want to support us in prayer or/and financially. It is time for workers from the harvest to go back into the harvest!

»Those who are greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant. Who is more important, (...) for I am among you as one who serves.« Luke 22:26-27

Diener 04

Normally the master sits at the table and his servants serve him. However, here it’s different! »For I have come to serve you«, says Jesus in the Gospel of Luke. Daily we are exercising the practical application of the Gospel as part of our everyday life ... this addresses to the big and small. What a joy and privilege to serve our brothers and sisters and at the same time learn our lessons.

Diener 03

Learning by doing

As we were into this topic and sought for options to practice, we prayed with our kids and teens at the Father’s House. The Holy Spirit showed us the Oval – a small park right in front of our gate – and he said that we should go there and clean it. Everybody at the Father’s House was excited and together we took the opportunity to serve our neighbourhood. Most of all the children were super excited to join the »Cleaning up the Drive« event.

Diener 05

Covered and armed

Covered by the blood of Jesus and armed with dustpans, brooms, sticks, shovels, wheel barrow and garbage bags, we went over to the Oval and started to clean the place. People in the park were looking and watching – some smiled, others had questioning faces. Nevertheless, there was no need for explaining anything but to offer a smile as an answer. Cleaning up this place would have meant several days of work for just one person, however, we did the job together in only four hours and learnt what it means to stand in unity, and serve a whole community in love and with joy. Love God, love his people and love his creation.
»God has given each of us a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? (...) Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ (...).« 1 Peter 4:10-11 (NIV)

Manila, a city full with millions of people. A pace in which innumerous stories cross their ways. A city in which the rich become richer and poor become poorer. The capital city of a nation that is still seeking its identity. A city where many are focussed on own ambition and then get bitterly disappointed. A city which images disply unbalance, injustice, fake pictures and development all at the same time ... that's only first view.
However, at the same time it's also a city that God has given to us. It's an inheritance that HE has entrusted us with. There is history he wants to make with people. Darkness that HE wants to illuminate. People, HE wants to send.

20 km - 6 hours - a thousand impressions

The Philippines carry a strong calling to send people to missions and to take other nations for Jesus. As HELP community it's our hearts' desire to release all of this in an even greater dimension - in our own mission so that we enlarge the ropes of our tent and do not only take Manila for Jesus but also the surrounding islands. However, we also want to invest in a greater dimension into the Filipinos so they enter into their divine destiny and just go. We sensed that God challenged us to ACTIVELY get moving and literally as well as symbolically go. We took the challenge - together with the vast majority of our community - teens, rehab guests and staff alike and walked the city. By foot. 20 km in 6 hours. 29°C (in the shade). A thousand impressions.

This was only the beginning ...

We walked alongside the main streets, prayed at intersections, lifted up the name of Jesus wherever we went and declared God's truth over Manila. We prayed for the various groups of society of our nation. We prayed for the government and businessmen as much as for the upcoming young generation. A symbolic victory walk declaring what Jesus has accomplished at the cross two thousand years ago ... also for Manila. We literally went to the utmost parts of the city where the beaches are and the width spreads. In Germany, it's a fun thing to go walking. However, in Manily you only walk in emergency - no Filipino would ever consider to voluntary walk 20 km through the heat of the day, in rain and smog. But we did and raised a standard in the prophetic: Just as we marched throughout the city to the shores - despite all obstacles - the Filipinos shall be released to arise and shine ... to the ends of the city, over to the islands and even unto the ends of the earth. Even though this was only the beginning, it marked a milestone - definitely a walk to remember!
