Background
How it started
After being on staff at the FCJG drug rehab center in Lüdenscheid for many years, the Bleiles moved to Omsk, Siberia, in 2001. Their long-term goal was to establish a rehab center there as well.
Franz and Aurelle Bleile, the leaders of our work in Novosibirsk, report:
For the first three years our main concentration was on learning Russian. At the same time we tried to build contacts with our neighbors living in the same estate of prefabricated houses. We helped people in need and established a Christian cellgroup.
Meanwhile we found a suitable building for our rehabilitation ministry in a small village with 1500 habitants called Sasnowska, 15 km away from Omsk. In February 2005, after finishing off with building alterations, we started to take in drug addicts
During the past two and a half years we had 40 drug or booze addicted men living with us.
Right now twelve men (we call them guests) are staying in our house. Another three have finished with the first stage of the rehabilitation program, they have a job in Omsk and are still joining our regular meetings.
There are many who want to quit drugs, but not all of them are willing to let go of their old lifestyle.
However, others get to know God’s truth and love, they entrust God with their broken lives and experience amazing changes in just a few months.
Such as Vitali (35J.):
He was a drug addict for 13 years, a series of broken relationships laid behind him plus several years of imprisonment.
By now he is working for a windows company, belongs to a church and is a great example of how God is able to change people. Anyone who knew him in the past is filled with wonder about the radical change and can hardly believe, that this former drug addicted criminal is speaking about God’s Love.
We wish to thank all those who support us by prayer and finances. Without you we couldn’t do this ministry. Many thanks! |
