Where lost children find hope
'Noah's Ark' was established in November 2001. 15-20 babies and children up to age 6 years can find shelter here. It is a place of refuge for the rejected and those who would die without help. They are cared for and nurtured for some time and return to their famili es or are given up for adoption.

19 children and one mother found shelter in the Ark already. 4 children were successfully given to adoptive parents and 7 children returned to their own families. Usually the kids stay with us for several weeks up to one year. Some of them enter the Ark badly abused, neglected, sick and malnourished.

Ernst and Christine Trachsel, here with their four children, are the leaders of 'Noah's Ark'. Some of the little ones (the names are changed) come straight from the streets. Cedric (3 months) was born in the dirt underneath an overpass. His mother disappeared without leaving a trace. Carl (6 weeks) was sold and bought back for 15 Euro before he entered the Ark. Johnny (16 months) was diagnozed with TB, weighing 5 kg only. Now he is able to stand up on his own, he gained weight and can return to his family.
